Banner Course Status Codes

The section status codes below are used on SSASECT to indicate that a section is open for registration, may be opened for registration, or canceled. Please note that the "I" status is obsolete and is not to be used on any section.

Section Status Code (SSASECT)	Section Status	Section Status Description	When to Use	Your Actions
A	Active	Section will be taught during the referenced term. Registration into the section opens on the first day of registration for the referenced term.	Section is expected to have students registered. Maximum enrollment is greater than zero (0).	Review as usual for accuracy and for meeting minimum enrollment.
P	Pending	Section is expected to be taught during the referenced term. Registration into the section may open at some point after the first day of registration for the referenced term.	Section is expected to have registered students later in the same term. Maximum enrollment is greater than zero (0).	Monitor when to change to 'A' or 'C'.
I	Inactive (DO NOT USE)	Obsolete	Historically used for sections that were not currently taught or for sections that were opened later in a term.	Do not add this code to any sections.
C	Canceled	Section will not be taught during the referenced term.	Section will not be offered and has no enrollment. If students are enrolled, notify the students to drop course.	Remove instructor, meeting times, building and room before marking a 'C'.
X	Registrar Canceled	Section will not be taught during the referenced term.	Used only by the Registrar’s Office to indicate to D2L that a section has been canceled by a department.	None.
