Request an Enrollment Verification

Enrollment verifications are available for request through Athena on the Student Services Page under ‘Transcript & Enrollment Verification.’ All requests are processed within one to two business days. Requests cannot be made over the phone.

Delivery Methods: Fax, Standard Mail, Pick Up in Registrar’s Office.

Enrollment verifications are not delivered via email.

Former students who no longer have access to Athena should email reghelp@uga.edu to request an enrollment verification. Please include the recipient information and a copy of a government-issued photo ID.

Types of Enrollment Verifications

  • Current Enrollment: Current term enrollment information, degree program(s), anticipated graduation date, degree(s) earned, and academic standing.
  • Current Enrollment w/GPA: Current term enrollment information, degree program(s), anticipated graduation date, degree(s) earned, academic standing, and GPA.
  • Enrollment History: Current term enrollment information, enrollment history, degree program(s), anticipated graduation date, degree(s) earned, and academic standing.
  • Enrollment History w/GPA: Current term enrollment information, enrollment history, degree program(s), anticipated graduation date, degree(s) earned, academic standing, and GPA.
  • General Enrollment Info: Current term enrollment information, enrollment history, degree program(s), anticipated graduation date, and degree(s) earned.
    • Only includes time status (e.g., full time, part time) for all terms. Does not include number of enrolled credit hours.
  • Transient Letter: Academic standing and a recommendation for transient admission

Guidelines for Third-Party Verifications

The University of Georgia contracts with the National Student Clearinghouse to serve as an authorized certifying school official for providing enrollment and degree verifications to various third parties. There is no charge for this service for students. Please contact the National Student Clearinghouse with questions.

Third parties requesting an enrollment verification on behalf of a UGA student should email reghelp@uga.edu with a signed release and written request. Enrollment verifications are only available to be sent via fax or mail. Please allow one to two business days for processing.

Credit Hour Classifications

Fall and Spring Semesters

  • Undergraduate/Professional Students: 12 or more hours (full-time), 9 to 11.99 hours (3/4 time), 6 to 8.99 hours (half-time)
  • Graduate Students: 9 or more hours (fulltime), 7 to 8.99 (3/4 time), 5 to 6.99 (halftime)

Summer Semester

  • All Students: 6 or more hours (fulltime), 3 to 5.99 (halftime)

Courses with an audit status are not used to determine enrollment status.
