Academic Policy 01.03.006, Scheduling Classes
Academic Policy 01.03.001, Centralized Classroom and Event Planning
The new daily class schedule is effective for spring 2026 courses and is based on a class length of 55 minutes for Monday – Wednesday – Friday classes and 80 minutes for Monday – Wednesday, Tuesday – Thursday, and Wednesday – Friday classes, with 20 minutes between classes. Courses that meet one day a week are scheduled in 160-minute blocks and cannot meet between 11:35 am and 2:15 pm except on Fridays.
Please note that this change in the new daily class schedule only applies to spring and fall semesters beginning with spring 2026. Summer semester’s daily class schedule is not affected by this change.
If a department wishes to schedule a course outside of the new daily class schedule periods, a request must be submitted following the procedure on the Scheduling Off the Daily Class Schedule page.
Questions regarding the new daily class schedule should be directed to regsched@uga.edu.

Course Scheduling Tool
The Office of Institutional Research and the Office of the Registrar have collaborated to create a new Course Scheduling Tool designed to assist schools and colleges in maintaining compliance with the New Daily Class Schedule policies going into effect spring 2026.
Three reports related to these policies are available in the Course Scheduling Tool:
- Course Distributions by Day
- Primetime & Heatmap by Day
- Average Enrollment and Allowable Enrollment
The Office of the Registrar will hold training sessions for using the new tool.
Questions regarding the Course Scheduling Tool as well as exceptions to scheduling off the Daily Class Schedule can be directed to regsched@uga.edu.
