Graduation Rosters

Graduation Rosters for the 2013 Spring Semester are due at 1:00 pm on June 3, 2013.

Submission of Grades

The deadline for submission of Spring grades was 5 pm on Monday, May 13, 2013. Any grades not submitted by the deadline will require a Change of Grade.

Class Rolls

The Office of Information Security has deemed it necessary to place the class roll website behind UGA’s firewall. This change will provide greater security to the application. From now on users attempting to log into https://db.uga.edu/classrolls/ will not be able to do so from off campus without first logging into the Remote Access VPN (Virtual Private Network). Users signing in from on campus will not notice a change. However, anyone from off campus will first be required to connect to the VPN (https://remote.uga.edu ) and then log into the class roll website.

You may access your current term Online Class Rolls here. The Class Rolls are updated nightly.

If one of your students has registered for your course on a Pass/Fail basis, this is noted in the Status Column. Likewise, if you have a student who registered for your course as a Audit, this is also noted in the Status Column.

FERPA for Faculty and Staff and the FERPA Quiz

FERPA (the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) allows students to place a Restriction on their Directory Information. This Restriction prevents the disclosure of any information on this student including the fact that they are in fact a student at UGA. However, the law has recently been modified to clarify that a student may not choose to be anonymous within the classroom setting, whether in a traditional or distance learning class, by placing a Restriction on their records. Disclosure of personally identifiable information, such as the student’s name and email address, as required by the instructors and classroom setting for purposes of conducting the class and class activities is permissible under FERPA. However, the fact that that student is in your class cannot be made known outside of the classroom setting. Contact Melody Kesler, mkesler@uga.edu or 706.542.6020 with any questions.

All UGA faculty and staff are encouraged to review the FERPA for Faculty and Staff information to ensure they are aware of the responsibilities in working with students’ educational records. Faculty and staff who are requesting access to the Student Information System are required to review the information and pass the quiz prior to submitting an access request.
