Readmitted Former Student Information
Welcome back to UGA! Please take a moment to review the information below to ensure a smooth reinstatement process.
UGA MyID: Official University e-mail communications are sent to your UGAMail e-mail account address ("email@example.com"). Your MyID account ("your_myid") is also the sign-on name that students use to access a wide range of online services at UGA, which includes access to register in Athena. If you need to create or update your MyID, go to (http://eits.uga.edu/access_and_security/myid/).
Disability Resource Center: The Disability Resource Center (DRC) facilitates accommodations for student with disabilities in order to promote equal educational opportunities and an accessible academic, social, and physical environment. For more information about the services and accommodations provided by DRC, go to http://drc.uga.edu/.
FERPA: The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA, is a federal law designed to protect the privacy of education records and provide students with certain rights with respect to their education records. The University of Georgia strives to fully comply with this law by protecting the privacy of student records and judiciously evaluating requests for release of information from these records. FERPA authorizes the release of “Directory Information” without the student’s prior written consent under certain conditions set forth in the Act. For more detailed information regarding FERPA, click on the following link http://www.reg.uga.edu/ferpa_privacy_act/ferpa_for_students.
Health Forms: An online health history form must be completed prior to registration. Although a form may be on file from previous enrollment, a new form is required to update your medical records. Also, depending on your last date of attendance, you may or may not be required to complete part of the Immunization form. To access these forms, go to the Health Services website (www.uhs.uga.edu), click “Forms”, and then click “Required Forms for New Students”. To find out if you must submit an Immunization form, call 706-542-1162. Please note: a UGA MyID is required to fill out the online Health History form.
Housing: Several options for campus housing exist for students at UGA. For more information, go to http://housing.uga.edu/
Orientation: As a former student, you are not required to attend Orientation but are welcomed to do so if you wish to familiarize yourself with current University policies and procedures. See the Office of Undergraduate Admission’s orientation website (https://www.admissions.uga.edu/article/orientation-home-page.html) for more information.
Registration: For information pertaining to the registration process, see the Registration page on the Office of the Registrar website (http://reg.uga.edu/registration).
Transcripts: Your offer of admission is contingent upon your accurate representation of information and, if currently enrolled at another institution, your final academic standing at that institution. The University of Georgia reserves the right to withdraw an admission offer at any time if we receive information that, in our judgment, has a significant impact on your character or fitness for study or participation in the UGA community.
You must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended since your most recent enrollment at UGA. It is recommended that final transcripts be received at least one month before registration or as soon as possible after readmission. Late submission of transcripts may impede your eligibility to register for classes.

Verification of Lawful Presence: Based on requirements from the Board of Regents of The University System of Georgia (Policy Manual 4.1.6), students admitted or readmitted to the University of Georgia for fall 2011 or thereafter are required to provide verification of their lawful presence in the United States before their admission or readmission to the university can be finalized. Students who file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and are eligible for federal student aid will have their lawful presence verified as part of the FAFSA process. Students who do not submit a FAFSA or the FAFSA process does not confirm their citizenship status may submit the following for verification of lawful presence:
- A copy of the front side of a current driver’s license issued by the state of Georgia after January 1, 2008 with an expiration date after the first day of your readmit term. A "Limited-Term" license can not be accepted as proof of lawful presence.
- A copy of a current U.S. passport with an expiration date after the first day of your readmit term (copy must include the photo page).
